Class Description:
Hand sewing is SEW much fun! In this class, students will learn and practice the basics of sewing by hand. From threading needles and tying knots, to types of stitches and adding embellishments, students will create colorful projects out of felt . No prior sewing experience needed.
Students with sewing experience are welcome, as projects can be made more advanced according to student preference and skill level.

Do you have a Lego Builder who is looking for his or her next challenge with Legos? Do you have an aspiring engineer? Then, this class is a great place to start! We will have fun building and occasionally powering our engineering creations together! “Lego Engineering and Architecture” will teach students about basic engineering and architectural concepts.

Welcome to the Narrative Navigators! Join us as we embark on a journey through the world of literature. As we navigate our way through a variety of beloved middle grade novels, we will explore literary elements, engage in class discussions, and participate in projects, activities, and snacks relating to the books. Books will be read at home and studied further in class.

Class Description:
Einstein Exercises is an innovative class designed for students in 5th through 8th grade to engage in stimulating mental activities that encourage critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. Inspired by the intellect of Albert Einstein, this class offers a unique blend of challenges and exercises aimed at developing students’ cognitive abilities and enhancing their academic skills.
Throughout this class, students will tackle a variety of thought-provoking puzzles, brain teasers, logic games, board games and mathematical problems. These exercises are carefully curated to encourage students to think outside the box, approach problems from different angles, and develop strategic thinking skills. Through group discussions, peer feedback, and teamwork activities, students develop communication skills and learn to appreciate diverse perspectives.

What a joy it is to sing! The goal of this class is to give homeschool students the opportunity to be in a choir, creating and experiencing music together. The choir will perform throughout the school year with a variety of music including contemporary Christian, pop, and show tunes.

Class Description:
Students will learn the basics of how to use their camera, basic artistic elements, fundamental photography camera settings and concepts, basic photo editing skills, understanding of how to work with their subjects or setting, and exposure to various styles of photography. This is a hands-on class with practice in class. Students will be expected to turn in assignments for each unit in preparation for a class review. There will be a “final showcase” where students will get a chance to show off their favorite images of the year.

Class Description:
In this course we will cover “fundamental aspects of chemistry such as the classification of matter, atomic structure, spectroscopy, chemical bonding, molecular geometry, physical change, chemical change, stoichiometry, solutions, ideal gases, acid/base chemistry, reduction/oxidation reactions, thermochemistry, thermodynamics, kinetics, and chemical equilibrium.”
We will do lots of experiments that are both quantitative and qualitative in nature. Some include “wavelength of microwaves, determining the number of water molecules in a hydrated compound, calculating percent yield, measuring the concentration of a hydrogen peroxide solution, determining the concentration of acetic acid in vinegar, measuring the specific heat of a metal, determining the change in enthalpy for a chemical reaction, performing flame tests, examining the interference of light waves, comparing metals to nonmetals, exploring Boyle’s Law, doing litmus tests, and electroplating.”
Through it all we will see how God’s design is one that draws us to be in awe and have reverence for His great plan.
